A full text document has been released examining the status of food safety in China.  According to foodsafetynews.com, the document acknowledges that some problems do exist from sources like environmental pollution and inappropriate agricultural practices, for example.  The plan indicates a continual improvement towards food safety through the Food Safety Commission and Food Safety Laws.

A few of the plans objectives include:

To enhance sample testing to cover all types of food;

 

The effective governance of resource contamination;

 

To reinforce on-site inspections, establishing a professional inspector team and standardized enforcement procedures and documentation; and

 

To align Chinese food safety standards with international standards.
