The Department of State has issued a final rule amending the International Traffic in Arms Regulations to provide for the implementation of the ACE and the ITDS.

Under this rule, beginning Dec. 31. Traders will be required to input data relevant to State’s DDTC in ACE when declaring permanent or temporary exports and/or temporary imports of defense articles controlled by the U.S. Munitions List. U.S. Customs and Border Protection will transmit the relevant shipment details to DDTC via an electronic data exchange, eliminating the need for traders to notify DDTC separately.
