We are so proud of our Team Member, Trish Lashley,

who followed through last week with such an honorable task:

to shave her head in honor of surviving daughter.

Trish wanted to raise awareness and funds to go towards childhood cancer.  She had a goal of $500 in mind … she exceeded that goal and raised over $1200 !  We are so proud and so happy to be part of such a great cause.  You are an inspiration and we hope more children can survive because of this research!

Check out Trish now!~

(February 2015)

Dear Scarbrough Friends,

As most of you know I am the very proud mother of a Childhood Cancer Survivor! Raising awareness for Childhood Cancer is very important to me, because no parent should ever hear the words “Your Child has Cancer.”

caitlinIn honor of my daughter, Caitlin,

celebrating her 10th year as a survivor,

I am joining St. Baldrick’s to raise funds for childhood cancer research by

Shaving my Head!

Here are some statistics:

  • EVERY 3 minutes a child in the world is diagnosed with cancer.
  • EVERY day in the USA 48 children are diagnosed with cancer.
  • EVERY day in the USA 7 children die from cancer.
  • LESS than 3% of Federal Cancer Funding goes to childhood cancer research.
  • LESS than 1% of the American Cancer Society monies go towards childhood cancer care and research.

Why St. Baldrick’s?

Because it is a grass roots organization started by parents who were upset that more research was not being done to save their children. You can learn more at www.stbaldricks.org

I will be participating in the Gloria Mengel Memorial Shave on February 24th in Kansas City, MO.

Gloria Mengel is a little girl from Independence, MO that lost her battle to a brain tumor in September 2014.
