The Vietnam-China situation mentioned recently looks to have ventured even further than anticipated.

According to Hong Kong CNN, “Two Chinese ships arrived at the coast of Vietnam on Monday to begin efforts to collect thousands of Chinese citizens who are fleeing the country after deadly attacks last week.”

China continues to evacuate 3000 of its citizens from Vietnam. 100 of them have been injured in Vietnam and 2 even killed. China is taking the threat against citizens very carefully, but China plans to continue drilling in a disputed territory both claimed by China and Vietnam – The Paracel Islands.

“China, for its part, has continued to accuse Vietnamese ships of similar acts [of disruption and violence], saying they are trying to disrupt the oil rig’s drilling operation. It has declared a 3-mile exclusion zone around the rig, which is operated by the state-owned oil and gas company CNOOC.”
