West Coast ports expect to be back to ‘normal’ by end of May

Aerial Shot of Commercial Ships at Anchor off SingaporeWest Coast ports are not yet back to normal after almost seven months of congestion, but the ports and port users are confident that “normal’ will happen by the end of May. The physical layout and operational methods at the terminals are turning vessels with capacities of 8,000 to 14,000 20-foot container units.

Recent reports from the Marine Exchange of Southern California showed no ships awaiting berths on some days , but on other days there were one or two. That is certainly much better than the peak of 28 ships at anchor two months ago.
